The tool, called the Berkeley Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale (BADAS), uses machine learning to analyze brain scans and identify patterns that are associated with the disease. BADAS is able to detect Alzheimer's disease even in its early stages, when symptoms may not yet be apparent. The tool could help to improve diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease, which is the most common form of dementia.
