UC Berkeley researchers develop new method for delivering drugs to the brain
Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, have developed a new method for delivering drugs to the brain that could improve the treatment of brain diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. The new method, called "magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound with microbubbles" (MRgFUS-MB), uses MRI to guide the delivery of microbubbles loaded with drugs to specific areas of the brain. This allows for more targeted drug delivery and reduced side effects.
